When I was a kid, I didn’t want to be a Disney princess like the other girls. I wanted to be a Disney animal, and my favorite was Simba from the Lion King. I had it on VHS and watched it every week. Now, I wonder why I loved this movie so much, why I was so attracted to Simba. And now I realize that this movie, I almost regrettably say, resembles a lot of my life right now. It’s so close to my heart because I know how Simba feels. Now he gives me strength and courage to face the next day. Because I know I will return, as Simba returned to become king, and everything will be right again.
The words will always echo in my head, “Remember who you are.” And I will never forget.
